That Guy! When I first met Mike, I told him I had been looking for apartments. Before I met him, I had met another real estate agent who said, “Oh, I will help you.” I never heard from her again. This is where the story begins. Mike assured me he would never do that to me—and I can definitely say he is true to his word. At first, I was looking for a two-bedroom walkout basement for rent. And you know the old saying: it’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind! I ended up looking for a two-bedroom upper unit instead, which turned out to be a much better fit for me. Let me just say—some of the places we saw in the beginning weren’t ideal. After seeing a few and not really connecting with anything, the search was becoming a bit daunting. You start to wonder if you\'re everrrr going to find the right place. Mike would say, with a big smile on his face and in a reassuring tone, “We’re going to find something for you, Wendy. Don’t worry!” I found Mike to be authentic, honest, professional, and thoughtful. That created a really positive atmosphere. I never felt rushed—and to be fair, I’m a little ADHD, so I asked a lot of questions… sometimes more than once. And the same question. 😳 It definitely helps to be around someone who allows you to just be yourself without judgment. Of course, he wants to make a sale—but not at the expense of his client. That was my experience. Mike picked up on my preferences right away. He truly considered my priorities and my budget. He set up the RE/MAX website searches for me, and I asked him to change the criteria more than a few times. Every time, he responded with positivity. Not once did I get the sense that I was being “a handful.” (Even though I probably was—lol!) We went everywhere from Barrie to East Gwillimbury. At some places, we encountered red flags—issues with cleanliness, safety, or signs of landlord neglect. Mike never pushed. Instead, he asked thoughtful questions like, “What do you think? Can you see yourself living here?” Even if he was secretly thinking, No one could see themselves living here! 😅 At one place, the grass hadn’t been cut in weeks—it was nearly three feet high. Big red flag. Mike already knew the neighbor had reported it and nothing had been done. It was clear he had done his due diligence. He even knew what was going on in the community. Awesome! The thing is, he didn’t tell me what to think—he asked questions, which empowered me to make informed decisions. I never felt manipulated or pushed. None of that. It was great. What a way to support people—without pressure. At times, things didn’t go as planned. There was one showing where the tenant was completely uncooperative. Mike handled it with total professionalism and stayed completely positive. After viewing many, many places, we finally found the one! We looked at each other and just knew—this could be it. There were still a few questions to be answered, but this was the best place yet. Mike is authentic, down-to-earth, sincere, and full of positive energy. He shows up as himself, and I really appreciate that—as anyone would. Throughout the entire process, I experienced a wide range of emotions, but they were all settled with a lot of laughs and constant encouragement. Bottom line: Mike’s positivity and upbeat personality made me feel like I was his only client—even though I know I wasn’t. I mean, I was looking for a rental, not buying a house. But you’d never know that from the way I was treated. He made himself available. He’s an excellent communicator who really listens and understands what you actually want. Have you ever heard the saying, “There’s no way you couldn’t like that guy! And if you don’t, there’s something wrong with you!” Mike Webster is… That Guy!
